This SOS Approach to Feeding course has been developed for professionals working with children and young people who are experiencing feeding difficulties. The course includes theory as well as practical exercises concerning examination and treatment for SOS Approach to Feeding.
Course Description: The SOS Approach to Feeding (Sequential Oral Sensory) is an interdisciplinary method used to evaluate and treat feeding and growth issues occurring at ages 0-18 years. The age range of children targeted at this course: primarily 1-6 years. The SOS Approach to Feeding integrates aspects of posture, sensory, motor, behavior/learning, medical and nutritional factors to comprehensively evaluate and supervise children with feeding/growth difficulties.
The course will include Power Point presentations, video clips of examination and treatment, case presentations and practical exercises where the participants themselves will try different kinds of food.
Intended Audience: Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Dietitians, Special Education Teachers, Psychologists, Physical Therapists, Early Intervention Specialists, Nurses, Physicians, and Mental Health Workers. Note: Training conferences are created for professionals. If parents wish to attend the training workshop, they must be accompanied by their child’s feeding therapist.
Course Level : The SOS Approach to Feeding conference is an Intermediate level course: Information is geared to practitioners with a general working knowledge of current practice trends and literature related to the subject matter. Focus is on increasing understanding and competent application of the subject matter.

External course: This course is an external course – so Accommodation is not included in the price. This allows participants to choose their place of residence.
Language: American English – the presenters are easy to understand. As there will be no interpretation into Danish.
Attendance Requirement: To ensure Learners successfully achieve the Learning Outcomes above and to satisfy the completion requirements for the SOS Approach to Feeding conference, all attendees are expected to attend the conference for the entire duration of each day (day 1., day 2., day 3. from 8:30am to 5:30pm, day 4 from 8:30am to 4:30pm)

Conference Tests and Evaluation Form Requirements : All Participants are required to take a multiple-choice test with at least an 80% accuracy at the end of each day of the conference to verify their understanding of the Conference materials. Upon full completion of the SOS Approach to Feeding Conference, participants must also complete a course evaluation form in order to receive their certificate of attendance.
Conference Learning Objectives
- List the seven areas of human function that need to be examined to provide a comprehensive Feeding Assessment.
- Identify at least five of the oral, sensory, motor, cognitive or emotional developmental milestones key to being able to eat well.
- List three reasons why children won’t eat, as based on learning theory principles.
- Differentiate classical and operant conditioning principles as applied to resolving feeding problems.
- Identify at least four of the necessary components of an SOS Approach to Feeding program for babies, toddlers, and young children in either an individual or group therapy session.
- List all three requirements for building a Food Hierarchy.
- Identify at least one play based strategy for progressing a child up each of the 6 major Steps on the Steps to Eating Hierarchy.

The course is intended for all professionals, working with children having severe sensitivity, sensory motor problems, physical eating disorders and / or food phobia (not bulimia, anorexia, orthorexia etc.) e.g.: Occupational therapists, Physio therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Pedagogues, Preschool teachers, Special Education Teachers, Registered Dietitians, Dietary Consultants, Psychologists, Early Intervention Specialists, Pediatric healthcare nurses, Nurses, Physicians, Mental Health Workers, Dental hygienists.

All participants must have participated in and completed PART 1 – ONLINE PRE-RECORDED SEGMENT deadline October 12th 2025.
If the participant has not completed PART 1 – ONLINE PRE-RECORDED SEGMENT by October 12th 2025, the participant will be excluded from participating in the conference October 20th – 23rd 2025.
If the participant is excluded from participating in the conference October 20th – 23rd 2025, the ticket to the conference will be lost. The participant cannot be transferred to another conference without charge.
The participant will lose his ticket and will bear the financial consequences this may have.

In order to achieve the intended Learning Outcomes and to satisfy the completion requirements for the SOS Approach to Feeding conference, all attendees are expected to attend the conference for the entire duration of each day (day 1., day 2., day 3. from 8:30am to 5:30pm, day 4 from 8:30am to 4:30pm)
Attendees will miss crucial information needed to be able to correctly use the SOS Approach to Feeding program if they come late or leave the conference early. Late arrival or early departure on any day will not be accepted. Certificates of Attendance will not be given to Attendees that are late or leave early. Please make any travel arrangements to ensure that you do not need to leave the conference early on any day. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Therapy Assistants and Students in Training – Additional Attendance Requirements and Actions
All Students and Therapy Assistants must follow individual licensing/training standards for their Country and their professional degrees supervision standards. When there is a requirement for students and/or assistants to practice only under professional supervision, the SOS Approach to Feeding program requires those students and assistants to have a Supervisor who themselves have attended a SOS Training Conference.
- If your Supervisor has previously attended the SOS Approach to Feeding and you are registering to attend an SOS Training Conference as a Therapy Assistant or Student, please have your supervisor send an email stating that they will provide supervision to you as required by your Country’s standards while practicing the SOS Approach to Feeding program, along with a copy of their SOS Certificate of Attendance.
- If your supervisor is planning to attend an SOS Conference with you, please have your supervisor send an email stating that they will be attending the SOS conference with you and will provide supervision to you while practicing the SOS Approach to Feeding.

Each participant will receive an evaluation form after attending the conference. We appreciate receiving all feedback, so that we can improve future conferences.
We will be available throughout the conference and will do our best to change or improve conditions as necessary.

Cancellation Policy
1. Cancellation of purchase
1.1. In accordance with the Danish consumer law (Forbrugeraftaleloven) certain agreements are exempt from rules about cancellation of purchase. This includes catering and service providers of recreational activities including entertainment, sports and similar cultural activities and events when you beforehand have been informed about the date of the event.
1.2. Since the event is included in this exemption and since you are already informed about the time of the event, you are not able to cancel your registration once completed unless the Organizer has given you the opportunity for cancellation.
2. Change of participant
2.1. Registrations may be substituted for another attendee from the same organization. Substitutions must be submitted in writing to kontakt@bornespecilaisterne.dk by October 3th for the substitution to be honored.
